About School Meals
Pupils’ wellbeing is at the heart of Twelve15’s recipes. Every weekday it focuses on providing fresh, healthy, and nutritionally balanced lunches that adhere to Government Food Standards. To view Twelve15's website click here.
80% of meals are cooked from scratch, using locally sourced produce whenever possible.
There is a three-week menu cycle, offering four daily choices which includes two hot meal options, one of which is a vegetarian option.
Special diets and allergies
Twelve15 caters for the 14 key allergens identified by the Food Standards Agency. It also has a range of Special Diet menus including ‘Dairy Free’ and ‘Free from Gluten’. Our Primary school kitchens are nut free. Click here for more information and allergen menus.
How much does a school meal cost and what’s included?
There has long been a positive association between learning outcomes and nutrition.
School meals are FREE for all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, regardless of household income (a saving of over £480). This entitles your child to a balanced main course, dessert, fresh bread daily and access to a salad bar.
If your child is in Year 3 or above, the cost per meal is £2.90 from September 2025.
Your child may be entitled to a Free School Meal, please speak in confidence to a member of the School Office.
Children who are not having a school meal may bring in a packed lunch but this still needs to be recorded on the online system. Please note that sweets, chocolate and fizzy or hot drinks are not allowed. As we have some children with an allergy please do not bring any food containing nuts into school.
Payment and orders for school meals must be made via scopay.com. Details of how to register are available from the School Office.
If you think you may be entitled to free school meals (eg you receive Income Support or other similar benefits), please speak to a member of the school office. The matter will be treated in the strictest confidence. This applies whether your child is eligible for a free meal under the Universal Infants Free School Meal scheme or not, as it means the school receives additional funding. See the section on Pupil Premium for details of how this benefits the children.
Snacks
Free fruit and/or vegetables are made available at breaktime to children in Reception to Year 2, as part of a government initiative. Some fruit is also available (on a limited basis) for Years 3-6. Children may wish to bring in a piece of fruit from home if desired.
Children should bring in a bottle of drinking water as this helps to keep them hydrated and ready for learning.
