Pupil Premium Funding

Research consistently shows that disadvantaged pupils can face a range of barriers that may affect their achievement, attendance, wellbeing and future opportunities. These barriers vary between pupils and families, so a flexible and targeted approach is needed to ensure support has the greatest possible impact.

At Lakeside Nursery and Primary Academy, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances. Pupil Premium funding is provided by the government to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and to help schools address barriers to learning, participation and achievement.

Pupil Premium funding is provided for pupils who are currently eligible for 'targeted' free school meals, those who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the previous six years, children who are looked after or previously looked after by a local authority and pupils eligible for Service Pupil Premium.
